Discussion on Adrenal Stress Syndrome

What are the Adrenal Glads?

The adrenal glands are two small glands located on top of the kidneys, each weighing less than 0.18 ounces. They have two separate, functional parts. One: the inside, also called the Adrenal Medulla. This is where epinephrine and norepinephrine are produced. These are your fight or flight stress hormones. Two: the outside, or Adrenal Cortex. This area produces chemicals that are responsible for converting fat and proteins into sugar, which is the body’s energy, as well as sex hormone chemicals and mineral balance chemicals, both of which are crucial to our existence.

Why are the Adrenal Glands important?

Outside of the obvious necessity for flight or fight, energy, sex hormones, and mineral balance, the adrenal glands are inportant because they are your body’s stress glands. They respond to your body’s stress and attempt to metabolize it. However, modern stresses prove difficult for the adrenal glands to metabolize. Bad diet, negative emotions, excessive physical stress, and excessive chemical stress cause the adrenal glands to malfunction. This results in poor health for you and your body.

How do I know if I have a problem with my Adrenal Glands?

If you suffer from fatigue, allergies, sleep difficulty/insomnia, sexual difficulties, and chronic pain, you could have a dysfunction of your adrenal glands.

What can you do you help me?

I have treated patients with adrenal gland problems for 20 years. As an Applied Kinesiology Chiropractor, I was trained to diagnose and treat adrenal gland dysfunctions, where medical professionals were not. That being said, there are numerous approaches we can take in the office to help you: Chiropractic/Kinesiology, Nutrition, Homeopathy, Herbal Approaches, Natural Hormones, and Acupuncture. All of these are non-invasive and painless techniques that can get you back to feeling like yourself!
